MORE ABOUT THE EVENT:  Even if you haven't read this book -- and you should read it -- you've heard of the legendary Soong sisters. Ailing married H.H. Kung, a financier and one of China's richest men. Qingling married the revolutionary leader, Sun Yat-sen. The youngest, Meiling, better known as Madame Chiang Kai-shek, was one of the most famous women in the world. The legacy of the Soong Sisters remains one of the more controversial subjects in modern Chinese history. Jung Chang, author of "WIld Swans" and "Mao: The Unknown Stories", is one of the more provocative historians writing about China today. Jung Chang's latest book, "Big Sister, Little Sister, Red Sister: Three Women at the Heart of Twentieth-Century China" takes a new look at this important family. On March 9, The Royal Asiatic Society of Beijing is hosting an online discussion of Jung Chang's new book and the historical legacy of the Soong Sisters moderated by Jeremiah Jenne, history teacher and founder of Beijing by Foot.
