more about the event:
The interaction of society, business ethics and governance plays a pivotal role in our daily lives. Whether we are workers or bosses, producers or consumers, participants or bystanders, commercialization constantly confronts us. Business has become a centrepiece of our daily activities and judgments, shaping decisions on how we want to live our lives.
What are the values according to which business is done? Do they differ in the world’s many diverse societies? What values guide us when business goes transcultural? Do we all share them all — or are there fundamental differences? Can we ‘benchmark’ them?
Please join us on 6 Jan 2014 to hear such questions posed to prominent professors Tu Weiming and Josef Wieland, and to explore whether the choices such questions elicit are tackled differently in China as compared to other countries. The panel will be in the impressive Boers-Li Gallery of 798, surrounded by paintings by internationally acclaimed Chinese artist Huang Rui who used the poems of T.S. Eliot for their inspiration.
