WHAT: An RASBJ special dining experience: Mongolian-style dinner with cultural show at 99 Yurts
WHEN: POSTPONED, WATCHI THIS SPACE
WHERE: 99 Yurts Restaurant, 9 Yongtaizhuang North Road, Haidian District, Beijing
MORE ABOUT THE EVENT: Almost exactly 750 years ago — on Nov. 5, 1271 — Kublai Khan established the Yuan dynasty. A few years later he consolidated control to become the first non-Han ruler to unite China proper. What lasting influence did his Mongol Empire have on Beijing? At the obvious grassroots level, look no further than 99 Yurts. It’s a Mongolian-themed restaurant with each yurt kitted out as a separate dining room — and we’ve reserved the largest one, creating a spacious room for up to 60 people. The speciality is lamb; each table will have a whole leg of lamb plus a range of other dishes, evoking the warrior who became Emperor of China. During the evening there will be a Mongolian cultural show with dancers, lasting about 20 minutes.
HOW MUCH: RMB 525 for RASBJ members, RMB 650 for non-members, which includes the full leg-of- lamb dinner and 1 glass of wine, beer or soft drink. A cash bar will be available for those wanting more to drink. If you know someone who wants to join RASBJ as a member in order to attend this event at the members’ rate, please ask them to sign up at least 48 hours before the deadline at: https://rasbj.org/membership/
HOW TO JOIN THE EVENT: RSVP by scanning the QR code below or by adding Peter Hogg’s Wechat 13810837442, then follow payment instructions which will be wechatted to you.
