On the road, in the home, and within the corridors of Chinese power, traditional habits are hitting up against modern trends, technology, and ideas. In this RASBJ dialogue, author and speaker Yu Dan and moderator David Moser will tackle the clash of Chinese cultures, old and new. Yu Dan is among the most popular and respected exponents and interpreters of Chinese culture, author of several best-selling books, including Confucius from the Heart, and a regular feature in all Chinese media. She is Dean of the Beijing Institute of Culture Innovation and Communication at Beijing Normal University. David Moser is also a scholar and commentator on modern China, perhaps best-known as co-host of the Sinica podcast. He teaches courses on Chinese history and politics at Beijing Capital Normal University. Their conversation will range from the general place of traditional Chinese culture in modern China, to the specific cultural aspects of chinese driving. Yu Dan will speak in Chinese, translated into English.
