RASBJ members are invited to a special “Wild Wall” outing with award-winning adventurer, scholar and conservationist William Lindesay OBE, who has walked the length of the Wall and authored five books about this magnificent monument. Leaving Beijing at 4:00 PM on Friday April 8 and returning to the city Sunday April 10 by 2:30 PM, you’ll experience the magnificence of the Wall – surrounded by springtime flora — and be inspired by stories drawn from William’s extensive personal experiences. William will lead us on up to three Wall walks (between 10-16 km each) and discuss the Wall, from diverse perspectives, from national defense and architecture to geography and conservation. For two nights we’ll be guests of William and his wife Wu Qi in a rural-style courtyard residence with views of 1500-meter high peaks and spectacular sections of the Wall. The fee includes all transport (including drives from and back to Beijing); guiding and talks; accommodations; all food and drinks, such as hearty British-style breakfasts and home-cooked Chinese meals.
